Telephonic Sellers
Registration
Louisiana law requires all telephonic sellers to annually
register with the Louisiana Department of Justice at least ten days prior to
doing any business in this state. The registration form shall be filed with the
Consumer Protection Section of the Department of Justice along with a
registration fee of ONE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS.
Additionally, each telephonic seller must maintain a surety
bond for FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS issued by a company admitted to do business in
Louisiana. A copy of the bond must be filed with the Consumer Protection Section
of the Louisiana Department of Justice. See La. R.S. 45:821-834.
Registration Fee
An application for initial registration or renewal is
$150.00.
Electronic Payment of Fees. Registration fees may be paid
electronically at http://www.payladoj.com.
Discover, Visa, and Master Card are accepted. A nonrefundable online service
fee will be charged to the credit/debit card for registrants who choose to pay
fees electronically.
Payments by mail. If registrants prefer, they may pay the required
registration fee(s) by check, without incurring an online service fee. Checks
should be made payable to the “Louisiana Department of Justice.”
